FOTD: Using New Sonia Kashuk Brushes and Revisiting MAC's Patternmaker Warm Palette

I have been digging in to my make up collection for inspiration and finding new love in what I have in my collection already.  Definitely have enough make up, always inspired by new items and what other bloggers/vloggers review, but I want to curb my consumerism. All of my make up collection is spread out and I will need to do some purging and tossing once I get everything in one spot.

Love how soft the Sonia Kashuk brushes are!  They're also really purrrrrty and look nicely in the Sonia Kashuk Gold Standard Vanity Cup, both have gold accents.  That Hello Kitty mirror has been a part of my makeup routine for the last 7 years.  I picked it up in Canada for $1 CAN on Robson.  Deals!
The essentials for almost everyday.  Keeping the daily face simple, using my MAC Patternmaker Warm palette and trying out my new Sonia Kashuk brushes.
Face:
Julep Blank Canvas Mattifying Primer
Maybelline Fit Me! in 240 Golden Beige
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Matte Bronzer
MAC Fleur Power Blush
Eyes:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin
MAC Shroom Eyeshadow
MAC Unsquare Eyeshadow
MAC Browshader Maple/Soft Charcoal
Physician's Formula Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara in Ultra Black
Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Strike A Rose

Prime, prime, prime!  For lasting make up having that base layer.  I'll be trying out a few other products to set my make up.  The end of summer heat has me shiny mid-day, especially if I'm running around.

MAC Shroom
MAC Unsquare

Using the small shadow brush, I applied Shroom all over the lid, then used the crease brush with Unsquare.

The fave MAC Browshader.  I'll be sad when this is done.  :(  Its the perfect shade and Maple is the softest highlighter that adds just the right sheen.  MAC, please bring this combination back!

Fluffy powder brush
Angled multipurpose brush
The brush applied the bronzer pretty dark. I followed up with the powder brush to diffuse.

Blusher softly applies the Fleur Power
Lastly, putting on a lippy!

Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection

One of my Xmas prezzies. I still haven't gotten around to use them, but the swatch are so gorgeous, I can't wait to use them! I was going to purchase this for myself, but of course, my gf told me to, "Stop buying things for yourself so people can buy you presents!" Haha!

Having these tip cards are great! I like having some direction, then adding my own personal touches.

I think my favorite trio is the Classic trio, especially Silk Teddy!

There is also an applicator included. IMO, it is useless. I guess I could use the spongetip end, but why dirty it? LoL!

Swatches of the shadows on my clean, bare hand with no primer. Very pretty! You can purchase this palette from Ulta Too Faced Natural Eye Kit.

Cost: $34

Would I recommend this to a friend? Heck yeah! I heart neutral shades of shadows and this set gorgeous!

Sephora Freebies - Kat Von D

I really wanted the Kat Von D Sephora tote because it looked cool. Well, it isn't that great of quality, but it looks cool! Haha! Spend $25 and get the tote. LoL!

And I finally redeemed my points for the Kat Von D palette for 500 points. Yay! The last 500 point items weren't that great and thought this was the best trade-in they have had in awhile.

The compact has a cute design and a mirror on the lid. I am partial to the 2 middle pearl shadows - groupie & confessional. The 2 glitter shadows - believer and motorhead would need a base for the shadows to stick to. They have a bit of a grainier texture due to the glitter.

Swatches: confessional, believer, groupie & believer. I love how groupie has a bit of a blue inference. Can't wait to do an EOTD with this palette!

Eyeko Pretty Eyes 5 in 1 Eyeshadow Cake

Guess what else I had been sitting on? My palette from Eyeko like over a year ago. Geeze. Really, I am doing better about blogging about prod that is sent to me. Sorry gals!

This palette reminds me of the Pop Beauty Eye Cake I reviewed back in September. Great to have 5 shadows in one tin that is easily portable.

Sugary sweet! This would be great for the spring or even an icy wintery look. I love having just a bit of shimmer in during all seasons, but this would be especially pretty paired up with a strong, red lip that I heart during December.

Mary Kate & Ashley Eye Glam - Eyeshadow Trios

This brand has now been discontinued at Wal-Mart and replaced by Hard Candy. I thought I would FINALLY review these. Sheesh. I'm finding prod all over that I've acquired througout the year that I haven't touched. smh I need to get through all of this before buying new stuff. Hmmm...I've heard that before. :\

Ms. B got the same trios. I picked up Passionate on the left and Luxurious on the right. I was really drawn to Passionate with the peach, gray and burgandy. Luxurious was a 'safe' choice with brown neutrals.

Passionate swatches

Luxurious swatches

These were about $3.00 each, but the quality wasn't that great. :\ These would need a base along with a primer. I would use either a MAC Shadestick or Paint Pot so the shadows have something to stick to.

Pop Beauty Eye Cake - Naked Brown Eyes

For lack of getting together some FOTD/EOTDs, I am finally getting through my backlog of make up that I've collected throughout the months. I picked up this Pop Beauty Eye Cake in Naked Brown Eyes from Ulta awhile back (check out the h**ker nails in the pic!). Included in this palette: Pale pink, baby pink shimmer, rosy-nude with gold glimmer, black-aubergine, peachy-pink sheen.

The only shadow that does not show up very well is the very bottom one. It takes quite a few swipes before I can actually get the color to show up. What's great about this palette is that it is catered to and compliment brown eyes. ;)

Retails for $19.99 & I scored this for 50% off! :)

Korean Cosmetics: Calli Real Color Shadow

I have this obsession with Asian cosmetics. Probably because they are pretty cheap and so inaccessible to me! Ms. B spoils me with some of great brands like 4U2 and Gino McCray...thank goodness for my BKK connection! I really want to do some damage in Japan & Korea though. We're limited to specialty shops here in Seattle and if I happen to come across something different, I'm going to buy it. No doubt when it came to this Calli Real Color Shadow palette. Note: The web page is in Korean. "Clear color eyeshadow with gentle touch." I found this at a small Korean shop at The Great Wall Mall in Renton, WA. Regular price was $28 but she gave it to me for 1/2 off. Not bad! I love that the word "trifling" is on the box. I haven't used that word in a minute! Haha!

I am always drawn to purple shadows because they compliment brown eyes. While I do sometimes purchase some wild colors, I can always count on hues of purple to look good no matter what!

This is not a common occurrence with palettes, there is an actual plastic shield over the product! I wish most palettes had some kind of cover over the shadow that would help protect it from shattering. This palette also came with four sponge tipped applicators which are small, but decent.

The colors are very light and opaque. I would probably use these colors more during the spring & summer. I prefer deeper eggplant and aubergine during the fall and winter.
