Beauty Ticket Haul - Lippies!

Beauty Ticket HaulIn one of the My Pretty Pink Box's was a coupon for Beauty Ticket. The website boasts that they have "Premium beauty brands up to 85% off everyday ~ new products and brands weekly! There are some current products as well as LE and discontinued products. They also sent a free gift along with my order which I gave to Ms. B. ;)

Tokidoki for Smashbox Lipgloss in Drammatica $8.99 - I was very happy to find this lipgloss! I missed out on picking up anything from the Tokidoki line. I picked this up more for the collector's factor, but I actually love the color and texture of this gloss! This has a different applicator than Smashbox's usual doe foot, it is a short bristled brush, which I actually prefer.

Such a pretty pink on my Fall/Winter fair skin. I think this will become a fave this season since I've been very light with my make up and having a pretty pout can do wonders when I'm close to bare faced.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Sorbet in Sugared Pear $4.99 - cute little gloss in a cute little pouch. I've never tried any Jelly Pong Pong cosmetics and for $5, it was a great opp to try! This gloss is a nice size that fits in a your pocket or in a clutch. The color is a wearable gold, but the only drawback is the pigment can be streaky when applying with the doe foot applicator. I would like to pop off the inner funnel and dip my lip brush in the gloss to apply instead! The texture is pretty light and not what I was expecting. There isn't a lot of slip. I would use balm before applying this and maybe layering a lipstick with this gloss.

$12.99 Smashbox Bargains! Contour/Blush Cheek Set & Perfect Pout Lip Set

I am a sucker for spotting a good deal. Not only do I snag these for me, but my gal pals as well. ;) A couple of my girls have received these as prezzies from me! I do like Ulta, but not as much as I love Sephora, but there are some redeeming qualities to the store, like these $12.99 Smashbox finds! I picked up the Contour/Blush Cheek Set and Perfect Pout Lip Set. Each of these has a $49 retail value, so these are an exceptionally great deal.
I recently did a review on ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder which had great color. The difference with this kit is that the blush in Pop is a cream blush. I was surprised at how light and natural the colors were. I'm not usually a fan of cream blush, but the texture is light and would actually do well on my skin during the fall/winter months. Just take a quick swipe of Pop with your fingertips & blend on the apples of your cheeks. The Contour is a light, matte powder that in my opinion, would provide a more natural contour than the ELF bronzing powder. This set also comes with a cute baby kabuki brush that is perfect for sweeping Contour on your cheeks.

The Perfect Pout Lip Set, you already know I had to get because it is a lippy! This set comes with the Perfect Pout Lip Brilliance trio compact, Palm Beach lip pencil and a deluxe sample size of O Gloss. I've already posted about O Gloss in my Smashbox Rapture Lipgloss Collection. The Lip Brilliance compact is slim and has a double ended, retractable lip brush that will fit perfectly in your pocket or in your clutch. These glosses are great on their own, but I would choose to pair these up with a liner since they are relatively sheer. The Palm Beach lip pencil is a pretty plum liner that compliments all of the glosses in this set and would work great on its own with just a clear gloss over it.

Smashbox is a brand that has been growing on me and I look forward to acquiring more products, especially value sets like these, in the near future! I appreciate when high end brands can provide affordable options. What's also great about Smashbox is that they are a cruelty-free brand and their packaging also meets the requirements of the SFI Program. :) A beauty brand that is a friend to animals & earth concious.

Smashbox Rapture Lip Gloss Collection

It is my goal to get through all of my new make up that I have been sitting on before I can purchase any new make up. Well, yesterday's post shows an obvious fail since that was a new, recent purchase!

Did anyone else indulge in the Smashbox Rapture Lip Gloss Collection during Holiday '08? See, I told y'all I love lippies! I ordered thsi from Smashbox's website and had quick & free shipping & a freebie!

From the Smashbox website, "Get glam with this party-perfect set of our award-winning, ultra moisturizing lip gloss. The luxurious velour wand perfectly contours lips for a flawless application every time. Includes three best-selling shades and three holiday exclusives. Wear alone or layer together for instant color and stunning shine." This is a $90 retail value set that is only $29! $21.75 on sale on the website!

You get to choose the deluxe sized sample of your choice when you place an order online and I chose their best selling O-Gloss.

These tubes are 0.12 fl oz each and are 4" long. They fit neatly in your pocket or small clutch.

The colors are soft & sheer ranging from nude, peach, pink & tan.

Illume - the lightest of the 6 glosses. Very light and while pretty on its own, I would pair this up with a nude or even brown liner like MAC's Spice or Chesnut.

Ravishing - a light bronze shade. I could pair this up with my MAC Honeymoon lipstick from the Moonbathe collection from Summer '07.

Candid - a coppery pink. Slicked over MAC's Lollipop Loving perhaps? Lollipop never looks right on me on its own, so I'll have to give this a try.

Stunning - a clean, bright fuschia. I think this looks the best on it's own!

Lovely - a shimmery peach. This looks similar to my beloved Love Nectar. Great on it's own as well or I might mix this with Candid.

Radiant - a glistening brown. The darkest shade of the 6, but still very light and wearable. Another on it's own color or I would pair this with a light lining of MAC Mahogony to deepen the brown color.

The award winning O-Gloss! The sample is a generous size - .10 fl oz and fits perfectly in my purse make up bag.

From the website: "Get a shiny pink pout all your own! The first intuitive lip gloss, this innovative formula goes on clear and then reacts with your personal skin chemistry to instantly transform into your own custom shade of pink. O-GLOSS is packed with our exclusive microcirculating Goji Berry-C Complex™ and ginkgo biloba, pomegranate seed antioxidants, revitalizing marine botanicals and moisturizing avocado oil for lustrous shine.
Winner of Allure Magazine Reader's Choice Award for Most Innovative Product, and two-time Best of Sephora Award Nominee for Best Lip Gloss and Best Beauty Innovation."
You can't mess with the ORIGINAL intuitive lipgloss! I have tried another gloss from Too Faced, but got too bright of a magenta! O-Gloss gives you a subtle, pretty, pink pout that isn't too loud. 0.34 fl oz for $22

These glosses are FAB! I would definitely purchase other Smashbox lipglosses! I reviewed Smashbox's Lip Paint in Artiste a few months back and LOVE that gloss as well!

Smashbox Lip Paint - Artiste

I really, really wanted Smashbox's Muse Lip Paint in Artiste, but everywhere I went, they were sold out! Boo! Back in February when I was in LA, I managed to find it while shopping at Irvine Spectrum! Planet Beauty had a great selection of higher end cosmetics and hair care products. I walked away with my Muse and some lashes that I managed to mangle that night. Let's just say I slept with them on. I won't disclose any other details. Hahah!

From http://www.smashbox.com/
Artiste is the middle tube. Love, love, love! I wasn't too fond of the other shades since they were particularly light.

I love how the tube is a soft squeezable tube with a doe foot applicator. I think I would have liked a brush applicator better, but I was stoked with the squeeze tube! I can get every bit of product out of this without trying to unsuccessfully scrape the tube. I actually squeeze a bit of product up and swipe it up with the applicator.

The texture has a nice slip and is a bit thick, but not overly sticky like Lipglass can be. The swatch here shows it to be a bit more ruddy, but it is actually a mauve with gold flecks.

I look tired, but at least my lipgloss is pretty! Its a very natural color on me and I love it! I hope Smashbox takes note and creates more lipglosses like this - color, texture and the PACKAGING! Overall, I give this gloss an A++. I like it that much! :)

Smashbox Friends & Family!

SBFF08 gets you 20% off your order - until November 30th! Its too bad their lets do lunch promotion can't be combined with this offer. If you order on Tuesdays & Thursday from 9 AM - 2 PM (PST) , a full size product of the day will be added to your order for FREE! Tuesday's free gift was an eyeshadow in Digital which looks like similar to MAC's Parrot. With every order you get to choose one deluxe size sample. I ended up choosing O-Gloss. :)

This is what I had initially wanted. Rapture Eyeshadow & Brush set. But they were sold out! Bummer! Like I need more eyeshadow anyway. But you can never have enough! And you get 2 full size PINK handled brushes!
What I ended up getting. Rapture Lipgloss Set. As if I needed more lipgloss either. Haha! See The Muse's review on the set. A breakdown of $4.80 per gloss. That's a steal! Plus I got 20% off too!
