Tokyomilk Takeout

I have been searching for a new scent and have heard great things about the brand Tokyo Milk.  Perusing Sephora, I came across Tokyo Milk Takeout, a cute set with a Tainted Love eau de parfum and Lip Tint in Get Lucky for $10.  The case is about the size of an Altoids min tin with the cute brand embossed on the front.  This will be great for a purse mini kit, including the parfum and lip tint. 

Tainted Love No. 62 - From the website:

This fragrance revels in the complexities of love with warm notes of dark vanilla bean, sensuous sandalwood, provocative spices, and an unexpected kiss of sweet orchid.  Dare to pair this fragrance with an exotic floral for a sweet and sultry scent.

Notes:

Italian Bergamot, Grapefruit Leaves, Green Pear, Apple Cocktail, Ivory Gardenia, Crushed Violet Petals, Jasmine, Tuberose, Blue Iris, Blonde Wood, White Musk.

The first notes are sweet, then finish deep with vanilla carried throughout.  Normally, I'm not a fan of vanilla scents, but with the other notes, this made it interesting.  I placed this in the crooks of my elbows, behind my knees and behind my ears.  The scent does not carry well and was only noticeable when smelled exactly where it was applied at a close range.  

Ingredients for both the parfum and the lip tint are listed on the inside packaging.  

The Get Lucky Lip Tint has a thick, sticky consistency and faint floral scent.  The color payoff is really light and the pigment settles in to lines as shown in the photo with flash below.  The photo without flash shows a nice wash of color on my lips.  I would pair this with a dark wine lip liner and layer the lip tint on top.  One drawback of this product, is the use of parabens.  :(  While methylparaben and propylparaben are listed as the last 2 products, meaning the least amount of ingredient in the product, they're still present.

Pros:  -Scent of the parfume is wonderful
          -Lip Tint has good texture and scent
          -Kit is an affordable price point to try both items

Cons:  -Scent wears off quickly
           -Lip Tint has parabens

Cost: $10 at Sephora

Would I recommend this to a friend?  Yes and no.  Yes to the scent, no to the Lip Tint.

Sweet Treat From A Friend :)

My very good friend Liz surprised me with this cute little lipgloss set. :) For once when she said, "I bought you something," it was 'food' but not something I could eat.

Not sure where she picked this up from, but she knew right away that it suited me. It was cute and pink. She knows me too well.

Not sure when I will actually use them, but I'll definitely be using a lipbrush if I can. I don't do finger-in-the-pot gloss often.

How frickin' cute are these?! I wanna eat 'em up!

My fave is the strawberry gloss cuz #1 it is pink and #2 its strawberry! One of my faves!

More MAC Lippies! Hello Kitty & Rose Romance Color Stories

Yet another post about lippies! Hmmm...I'm tempted to take a picture of my entire lippy collection, but I won't. That would happen when I'm trying to deter myself from buying anymore, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Ha! I picked up a few items from the Hello Kitty for MAC and Rose Romance color stories that I haven't had a chance to use or swatch.



Hello Kitty for MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Popster. I have issues with putting my finger into lip products. It makes me squeamish, but I still buy them. Haha! And how could I resist my ultimate fave Hello Kitty? But it really did take me awhile to dip my finger into that pot. This has the same familiar vanilla scent that most of the MAC lippies have and has great pigment! The color makes my mouth a nice soft, watermelon pout. And the plus, this has SPF 15! I think this item will stay tucked in my collection for awhile and I'll probably start using this with a retractable lip brush when the time comes. No finger in pot!


I picked up the Hello Kitty Sweet Strawberry Lipglass for me and for Ms. B. More so for Ms. B since they didn't get any Hello Kitty for MAC cosmetics in Thailand! If some of you can remember that far back, the Hello Kitty line sold out pretty quickly. I ordered most of my items online and picked up only a couple of things at the counter since I couldn't at Nordstrom the day it unveiled. The color is actually a darker fuchsia on and makes my lips look so juicy!

Virgin Kiss was one of those random purchases that I picked up during the Rose Romance color story. This color is similar to my fave Love Nectar, but it does not have the golden flecks of shimmer. Rather it has more of pink shimmer. I plan on using this when my Love Nectar runs out, but when this runs out, I'll be picking up more Love Nectar. You like what you like right?

NARS - The Love Set

Damn first SANGLE Valentine's Day in YEARS. I've been boo'd up on V-day for the past 6 years...2 different guys. =x Well, this year was completely different, but what wasn't different was buying small gifts for ME. One year, I even went to Tiffany's to buy my own necklace. Came home & L interrogated me as to how I acquired that new necklace. Well, I bought it for myself since you didn't. Ooooo...burn. LoL! Well, he did spoil me after that so I can't complain. :)

I bought the above pink mini to bring with me on the go. Mo-blogging, Mo-FBing, Mo-Twittering etc. Does its purpose and fits nicely in the Louis. :) The HK lipgloss and kicks were just a couple of my favorite things at the moment when I snapped the pic along with the Pinky lappy.


And I had pick this set up - NARS' The Love Set. LTD for $50 @ Sephora. Armed with Pillow Talk, Orgasm and Sex Machine, all that is missing from this set is a vibe. Hahah! I love how some of the color names are lewd. HOT!

A light swatch of Orgasm. One of the best selling blushes out there. I usually wear Deep Throat since it has a bit more pigment to it and would probably use Orgasm when my summer darkness fades. NARS blush is buildable in color, so I can wear this now, but I choose not to. It will look much prettier when I'm pudaw.

Sex Machine on its own. Pretty, but...

I like it better with Pillow Talk lip gloss on top. Perfectly pink pout. Loves!

What is also pretty is Pillow Talk on its own.

I already own a couple of NARS lipglosses, Turkish Delight (oh hey KimK's fave!) and Orgasm. These glosses are thick, but not too sticky and the color lasts! Sex Machine is my first NARS matte lip pencil and I like it! I should start wearing this duo now since the upcoming fall trend is back to DARK. HAUTE, but no guy ever likes smooching with bright or dark lippies. :\ Deal with it fellas! I hope to see more coffrets like this from NARS this holiday season.

Lippies!

Here are a couple of lippies that I have picked up in the past month that I haven't had a chance to review. I have been extremely busy with work/school that I have not updated as frequently. I have all next week off, so I'm hoping I can squeeze in some new tutorials/FOTDs/EOTDs etc. I actually have built up quite a bit of material that I have either lost interest in or just don't want to post yet because I keep getting new stuff!

Make Up Mania Curvy Lip Silicone from Uwajimaya $14
The girl on the package has some straight up chocho lips. C'mon, you mean to tell me she doesn't have some kind of injection in her lips to make them that big?! Haha! I have actually seen this lipgloss on Musey's site and saw it at Uwaji's so why not? It looked pretty interesting.


The biggest difference in this lipgloss as opposed to say MAC would be the spatula applicator. Ok, kind of weird, but you can really maximize the product that goes directly on your lips as opposed to say a doe foot or brush applicator that may pull some of the product.

This gloss is thick, but not overly thick as say MAC's Lipglass. It smells like CANDY too! Mmmm! I picked up this pale pink color because I thought I could use this with a smokey eye & pale lip combo or even use this with other colors since its a pretty neutral shade.

Holy cow! Look at it on my lips! This does give you fuller, curvier lips by filling in all the lines in your lips. My bottom lip looks ginormous! This isn't a plumping gloss as in having such ingredients as capzasin to irritate your lips to make them appear and feel fuller. This just has a different texture that floats on your lips to give you that full look. I doubt I would buy this again and it was $14! I would rather buy another tube of my HG MAC Lustre Lipglass in Love Nectar for that price!


I was impressed with my last HIP Jelly Balm purchase that I had to pick up another color to see how a darker color would be pigmented. These were BOGO @ Wal-Greens so I picked up one for me and one for my BKK cutie Ms. B. I compared these to MAC's Tendertone Lipbalms and they come in a very close 2nd to my liking!

I picked up 520 Succulent which is a pretty plummy color.


In its pure, unscathed state. I absolutely hate digging my fingers into lip products. Ick. Anywho...isn't the color gorgeous?

The flash kind of washes the color out. Its a bit more pigmented! While I have been happy with my Jelly Balm purchases, I think this may be my last one. #1 because its a potted lip gloss and #2 because I have so many lippies! Overall, for $8 its a great buy, especially when you can find them for BOGO at Wal-greens or Rite Aid.

I have placed 3 separate orders on Sephora.com and even made an appearance to the Bellevue Square store yesterday. Although, I did manage to walk out of the store empty handed. That was because I already bought a Viva Glam lip palette at Nordstrom. LoL! Enough...no more Sephora for me for now. I have already spent too much. Wasteful biatch! I need to be saving my money! Yves Saint Laurent - GLOSS PUR BlackPure Lip Shine Gloss. I know what you're thinking, black lip gloss? But the way Pink used this gloss with a deep red color was absolutely smashing!

NARS blush in Super Orgasm. I didn't jump on the bandwagon with the original Orgasm blush. I opted for Deep Throat instead. But when Super Orgasm made its debut and I swatched it, I loved it! Its more pink and there are gold speckles. Its not as glittery as you may think since they do eventually fall off. I can't wait to see this on my cheeks!

Belated Birthday Haul from Sephora

I forgot to mention some last minute birthday goodies that I picked up at Sephora. I wanted to get my birthday bubbles first and foremost! I haven't tried these yet because #1 I don't have time to take a bubble bath & #2 I need to find a worthy enough tub to sit in. Some of you know why. LoL! I needed another NARS Turkish Delight because the one I had began to get a funky smell. As if it doesn't have a weird enough scent as it is - its not bad, but I loooove the way my MAC lippies smell! I also picked up NARS Orgasm lipgloss because, well, just because. I know my girl Casey loves this color and I like it on but just never felt compelled to buy it. Since I had 100 points in my beauty bank, I redeemed them for a sample of Make Up Forever's Aqua Eyes eyeliner. My girl Joanie who is a MUA there told me to get that out of the assortment of samples they had.

Swatches of the lipglosses and the liner. Turkish Delight can be a strange color on some people, myself included. It can be the perfect pale lip to compliment a smokey eye, but it can sometimes just look like cream sitting on your lips. Acck! I also pair this up with MAC Spice lip liner if I don't want to use it on its own. Orgasm on the other hand is a beauty on its own! The past few times going out, I have kept this in my purse/bum bag and reapply it all night long! Not sure if I will repurchase more of this after I'm done, but it is a nice addition to my ever growing collection!

The liner sample is a generous size in a basic black. I don't have much luck when it comes to tightlining and my liner ends up either smudged or just disappears because on constant blinking. I wouldn't say this is budge proof on me, but it does hold up pretty well. I don't think I will be purchasing a full size of this liner because I am happy with the wear of my MAC Technakohl liner.

CCO MAC Hauls + Comparison of Tendertone vs Jelly Balm

I am definitely in love with the Cosmetics Company Store up in Marysville! I head up there when I can! But only if I already have errands to run up north. The selection has been pretty slim because of all the tourists that come through to the outlets. I have been pretty lucky to pick up a few things, including another Provence pigment which is my fave base and also limited edition. I even snagged a couple of Tendertone Lip Balms that were limited edition as well!

I snagged this for $11.75! :p This is a deal since the retail price of $14.50 a pop!

On another visit to CCO, I picked up MAC Pro Longwear Lipsticks in Luchious & Rose and another Tendertone Lipbalm in Purring.

Purring Tendertone Lip Balm. Just a slight peachy tint. Similar to the HIP Jelly Balm in Savory that I got for Cat.

Lucious Pro Longwear - I love this color on! Its a good pinky beige with a hint of shimmer.

Sorry for the streaky application! I just took Lucious off before applying Rose and it took a bit of work to get it off. Haha! I love this color as well! It is a bright, clean pink that makes me think retro when I have it on. Very much a girly color

Comparison of MAC Tendertone Lip Balm vs. L'oreal HIP Jelly Balm
Jelly Balm in Plush on the left and Tendertone in Tenderbaby on the right. The Tendertone is a bit bigger. than the Jelly Balm, but both are pretty generous in size for the amount you need to apply. The colors are pretty similar but one thing I found was that the Tendertone was more pigmented than the Jelly Balm. I like to use these by themselves and with lipsticks, but mostly for just a bit of color on my bare lips. I like that the Jelly Balm smells like Cotton Candy, but I love the more watermelon scent that Tendertone has to offer. While I did get the Tendertone discounted for $11.75 at CCO, I paid $8 for the Jelly Balm so only a few dollars difference. Even though I do have a thing about putting my finger in lip products, I’ve put aside my lil peeve and gave in. I’m glad I did!Overall I do like both products but the winner in my book would be the Tendertone!
