FOTD: Lunar New Year - My Year!

So ready for this year to be on the up and up!  Had to wear red on Thursday to bring in the good luck! I made the mistake of washing my hair though.  Doh!  I hope I didn't wash any of the good juju.  I was able to try out some of my new February Ipsy Glam Bag goodies. :)

-Emite Make Up Professional Eye Lash Curler: This came with 3 extra pads!  I liked how this curler was longer than my Kevyn Aucoin and it had good weight to it.  The shape is very similar to my Aucoin and curled my lashes nicely.

-City Color Creamy Lipstain in Flirtini:  This lipstain felt light and creamy when applying.  Had full matte coverage and left my lips lightly stained after this wore off when I ate and drank.  Not that great of lasting power, but this is a comfortable matte lippy that didn't leave my lips feeling really dry.  Curious to check out the other 5 colors and may look into purchasing in the future.

-ModelCo Blush Cheek Powder in Cosmopolitan: I knew this was going to have great color payout when I swatched.  The little bit that I dabbed with my brush was more than enough and had to diffuse it with the blush brush.  Came out super bright, maybe a little too bright, and will need to have a lighter hand next time.  As far as wear, this was still pretty vibrant at the end of the day.

Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray:  While this smelled nice, I didn't have much hold to my hair.  I'm thinking I didn't use enough of it and will try this again after curling my hair.  It smelled really nice!  It did fade to a lighter scent after awhile, which is good because I can't stand my hair smelling too heavily of hairspray.

On another note, my brows are not in the best shape.  :(  I got them waxed recently and I told the technician to just clean it up.  She trimmed them too short and waxed them too thin.  Grrr.  Even when I fill it in, there are still gaps that don't look right.  Just when they start filling in pretty nicely after another incident a few years ago when I got them threaded, now its back to being thin.  Halp!

FOTD: Using New Sonia Kashuk Brushes and Revisiting MAC's Patternmaker Warm Palette

I have been digging in to my make up collection for inspiration and finding new love in what I have in my collection already.  Definitely have enough make up, always inspired by new items and what other bloggers/vloggers review, but I want to curb my consumerism. All of my make up collection is spread out and I will need to do some purging and tossing once I get everything in one spot.

Love how soft the Sonia Kashuk brushes are!  They're also really purrrrrty and look nicely in the Sonia Kashuk Gold Standard Vanity Cup, both have gold accents.  That Hello Kitty mirror has been a part of my makeup routine for the last 7 years.  I picked it up in Canada for $1 CAN on Robson.  Deals!
The essentials for almost everyday.  Keeping the daily face simple, using my MAC Patternmaker Warm palette and trying out my new Sonia Kashuk brushes.
Face:
Julep Blank Canvas Mattifying Primer
Maybelline Fit Me! in 240 Golden Beige
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Matte Bronzer
MAC Fleur Power Blush
Eyes:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin
MAC Shroom Eyeshadow
MAC Unsquare Eyeshadow
MAC Browshader Maple/Soft Charcoal
Physician's Formula Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara in Ultra Black
Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Strike A Rose

Prime, prime, prime!  For lasting make up having that base layer.  I'll be trying out a few other products to set my make up.  The end of summer heat has me shiny mid-day, especially if I'm running around.

MAC Shroom
MAC Unsquare

Using the small shadow brush, I applied Shroom all over the lid, then used the crease brush with Unsquare.

The fave MAC Browshader.  I'll be sad when this is done.  :(  Its the perfect shade and Maple is the softest highlighter that adds just the right sheen.  MAC, please bring this combination back!

Fluffy powder brush
Angled multipurpose brush
The brush applied the bronzer pretty dark. I followed up with the powder brush to diffuse.

Blusher softly applies the Fleur Power
Lastly, putting on a lippy!

FOTD: Ulta Summer Glam Beauty Essentials

Used 3 products from Ulta's Summer Glam Beauty Essentials for this look: Laura Geller Cool Lids Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Gold Goddess, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Matte Bronzer & Stila Lip Glaze in Strawberry Lemonade. The cream eyeshadow is a beautiful rose gold with a gleaming shimmer. I started with UDPP in Sin all over my eyelid, then patted Rose Gold Goddess on to my lid with my finger, applied Julep's Dusk in the crease and lower lashline and followed up with MAC's Maple on the browbone. Lined the upper lashline with Julep's Kajal liner in Brown Shimmer, then 2 coats of Benefit's They're Real mascara on the top and bottom lashes and filled in my brows with MAC Soft Charcoal.

For my face I primed with Julep's Blank Canvas, then buffed in Maybelline's Fit Me! in Golden Beige. The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Matte Bronzer smelled so yummy while applying. All I needed was a light hand and 1 sweep of color to get definition in the hollows. I finished off with MAC's Fleur Power on the apples of my cheeks.

Lastly I glossed my lips with Stila's Lip Glaze. I have some deep grooves in my lips, so applying using dabbing motions gets the glaze in those spaces and gives a more smooth finish.

Ringing in 2010!

Starting the New Year off RIGHT! New hair and a great attitude. :) I had a good time with my Partner In Crime, even with the lame circumstances at the event we tried to attend. Whatever, the night ended with good friends and a Seattle Street Dog! :D

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco - Seattle nestled on Fourth Avenue in downtown. I LOOOOVED that robe, but wasn't willing to pay $120 for it. I'm hoping my gf's Mom can score one with an employee discount. ;)

Products used-

Face:
-MAC Studio Fix in C4
-NARS Blush in Super Orgasm

Eyes:
-UDPP Sin
-MAC Eyeshadow in Vex to highlight
-MAC Eyeshadow in Malt in the crease
-MAC Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe in deep-v & contour
-MAC Fluidline Liner in Blitz & Glitz
-MAC Power Kohl Liner in Orpheus on lower lashline
-Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara 2x coats on the top lashes
-Anastasia Brunette Brow Powder (used light powder) & set with Brow Gel
-Daiso Sparkle Eyelashes

Lips:
-MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour in Rose Runner

Close ups of the eyes with and without flash. I wanted to keep the make up simple and not too flashy. Most of the time, especially for big events, I like to load on the shimmer/glitter, but this time around we went more subtle.

And here are the $1.50 sparkle lashes from Daiso! I didn't notice the sparkle when I bought them. I guess I wasn't really paying attention to that detail looking at the lashes. I like the kinds that have varying lengths. Unfortunately, these didn't make it. Hahaha! I woke up with these next to me and they were smooshed. Well, I can always pick up another pair since they were a good deal, but I don't think I will. Too blang, blang for my liking.

FOTD: Smokey Pinks

I've really been stuck on my MAC Smokey Eyes Palette from how many years ago. I can't recollect which color story this was from but I do know it was one of the holiday sets. You can always find these 3 types of palette from MAC during the holiday season: smokey eye, cool and warm palettes. The past few years they have looked fairly similar and I've passed on buying them. I can't believe that this season has come and I haven't even thought about picking anything up. #1 because I need to stick to my rule of no buying until all the year's prod has been used & reviewed and #2 I'm b.o.b'n right now and need to not spend excessively. This has really been hard, but I need to really get it together.

In Vegas on the way to head out for a bite, Jolibee's *drool* and walk the strip.

Products used-

Face:
-MAC Studio Fix in C4
-NARS Blush in Deep Throat

Eyes:
-UDPP Sin
-MAC Eyeshadow in Vex to highlight
-MAC Eyeshadow in Malt in the crease
-MAC Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe in deep-v & contour
-MAC Power Kohl Liner in Orpheus on lower lashline
-Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara 2x coats on the top lashes
-Anastasia Brunette Brow Powder (used light powder) & set with Brow Gel

Lips:
- Tokidoki for Smashbox Lipgloss in Drammatica (not pictured)

Subtle, but defined. I dunno why I have been stuck on this combination of Malt, Vex and Satin Taupe, but it works and I've been doing this for the past few weeks now. What I like about this Smokey Eye palette is that there are varying shades and you're not stuck with either a charcoal or black shadow to work with.

BUSY! FOTD: What I Have Time For

I have been just a busy bee lately. Amidst the odd hours working, a quick jaunt to Vegas and the Thingstaken Holiday, I haven't had much time to blog/shop/do any looks! This is basically what I've been looking like on a usual basis. Some of you may know my current situation & the forced use of Public Transportation, but I don't mind it so much. Hey, I'm being more green right? Along with that, I tend to be a sweaty mess by the time I get to my destination and it really doesn't make sense for me to do a full look if I'm going to be melted. Some days, I go bare faced if I'm just out and about & don't have to go to work. I blend in with the HS kids or college students while I'm in my North Face fleece, jeans, Dunks & my DaKine backpack.

FOTD: BFF/MOH

It has been a busy week for me! My last post was on Thursday and its not like me to go without posting on a daily basis! I've been out of the house. Not with work, but with my Pinay Sa Seattle sistahs! Rehearsals everyday for our 3rd Anniversary Show, Sinilangan, on Friday. I'm proud to be a new member to this organization and I am looking forward to giving back to the community and being a part of making changes in the Filipino community. :)

*yawn* I woke up at 8 AM on a Sunday to help my BFF Myra with her makeup for a wedding where she is the MOH. I didn't get as many pictures because we were on a time crunch.

FOTD: PINK!

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and tonight's Girlfriends' Night Out For The Cure event at Julep Nail Parlor in Bellevue, I decided to go for an overdose of PINK! Not completely head to toe, but just enough in my standards to be too much. Hahha!

During my chair massage, I was in one of those seats where your face rests on a cushion. Well, I'm short and my face was smooshed on the bottom and my new lashes got wrecked! :\ Was it worth it for the massage? YES! Ah well, I'm sure I'll find some replacements or I can just order them from Ricky's Website.
I cut them just a teeny bit on the inner corners to fit my eyes better. The more I look at this pic, I get a lil sad. I think I will give in and order some since these were very light and not too over the top. *le sigh*

Outfit Of The Day (OOTD):

-The fave motorcycle jacket
-Magenta tank tunic from Express; I needed some coverage since I had one too many salty fries for lunch at Spitfire Grill. Hahaha!
-Black stirrup leggings from Wal-Mart Miley Cyrus/Max Azaria line random!
-BCBG Dishys

Hmmm? What should I wear for my 2nd Girls' Night Out For The Cure on 10/28? :p

FOTD: Creme Allure

Named after my new MAC Dazzleglass Creme, Creme Allure, I wanted to play up my eyes in a simple way with exaggerated liner and keep my pout as the main focus. This seems to be my trend lately since I've been kind of lazy to play up my eyes during the day.

On another note, my hair has just been horrid lately. The lack of employment has caused the tresses to become neglected, but not for long! My bestie Cat who is a manager at 7 Salon, managed to snag me a 50% off deal! I'm getting my hair cut and foiled! You'll see some brand new hair in upcoming posts. Yippy! As you can see in this post, you can hardly see my hair cuz lately, I've been rocking the cheerleader ponytail. The ponytail is about 12" long. Accckkk...way too long for my liking.

Products used:
Face:
-MAC Studio Fix in NC42
-MAC Blush in Blushbaby

Eyes:
-UDPP
-MAC Eyeshadow in Femme-Fi all over lid
-MAC Eyeshadow in Rich Flesh in the crease & outer-v
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack on top lashline
-MAC Power Kohl Liner in Orpheus on lower lashline
-Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara 2x coats on upper lashes
-Anastasia Brunette Brow Powder (used light powder) & set with Brow Gel

Lips:
-MAC Lip Liner in Soa - lined and filled in lips
-MAC Dazzleglass Creme in Creme Allure

Keeping it simple. Rich Flesh has been a natural look fave for me since it was introduced to me at the MAC Studio Talk class 2 years ago. Keeping it simple, yet defined. I love the look of heavy liner on my top lash line. I have enough eyelid where I can rock it.

Juicy juicy! This is why I LOOOOOVE gloss! Dazzleglass Creme has a lighter consistency and not very sticky which is a ++! I still want the color Amorous, but I do like Creme Allure!
