FOTD: Using New Sonia Kashuk Brushes and Revisiting MAC's Patternmaker Warm Palette

I have been digging in to my make up collection for inspiration and finding new love in what I have in my collection already.  Definitely have enough make up, always inspired by new items and what other bloggers/vloggers review, but I want to curb my consumerism. All of my make up collection is spread out and I will need to do some purging and tossing once I get everything in one spot.

Love how soft the Sonia Kashuk brushes are!  They're also really purrrrrty and look nicely in the Sonia Kashuk Gold Standard Vanity Cup, both have gold accents.  That Hello Kitty mirror has been a part of my makeup routine for the last 7 years.  I picked it up in Canada for $1 CAN on Robson.  Deals!
The essentials for almost everyday.  Keeping the daily face simple, using my MAC Patternmaker Warm palette and trying out my new Sonia Kashuk brushes.
Face:
Julep Blank Canvas Mattifying Primer
Maybelline Fit Me! in 240 Golden Beige
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Matte Bronzer
MAC Fleur Power Blush
Eyes:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin
MAC Shroom Eyeshadow
MAC Unsquare Eyeshadow
MAC Browshader Maple/Soft Charcoal
Physician's Formula Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara in Ultra Black
Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Strike A Rose

Prime, prime, prime!  For lasting make up having that base layer.  I'll be trying out a few other products to set my make up.  The end of summer heat has me shiny mid-day, especially if I'm running around.

MAC Shroom
MAC Unsquare

Using the small shadow brush, I applied Shroom all over the lid, then used the crease brush with Unsquare.

The fave MAC Browshader.  I'll be sad when this is done.  :(  Its the perfect shade and Maple is the softest highlighter that adds just the right sheen.  MAC, please bring this combination back!

Fluffy powder brush
Angled multipurpose brush
The brush applied the bronzer pretty dark. I followed up with the powder brush to diffuse.

Blusher softly applies the Fleur Power
Lastly, putting on a lippy!

Tuesday Night Mask - MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask

You're probably wondering....
wth is all of this?! I'm in the process of swapping my spring/summer wardrobe with my fall/winter wardrobe that has been in storage. Amidst some of the bins in the closet and the Space Bags underneath The Bed, I emerged a clusterfark of a mess. I have keep & store, give away and transitional categories. I gave up for the night and will continue tomorrow, so I decided to do this instead!

Finally try out my MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask! Hahah! Well, the weather and hormones have caused a few troublesome spots on the mug, so perfect timing to do a clarifying treatment.

I decided not to do a full face picture of me with the mask. #1 because it was ridiculous and reminiscent of a Ted Danson incident. Slightly racial. #2 because I looked like a werewolf. Haha! So the eye is about all you get.

Pros:
-Quick! You leave on for 5 minutes and rinse off.
-Has a lovely scent.
-Warming effect felt nice on my face while working the product in my skin

Cons:
-It is LE! :(
-Don't taste the mask while rinsing. Nast!

I won't be using this often since I have sensitive skin that tends to dry out. Just when my mug needs a that extra bit of help. I still like my sheet masks for weekly use!

MAC Hauls - Cosmetic Company Store & Nordstrom

I happened to be up in the northend over the weekend and thought, "I'm 1/2 way to Marysville, so why don't I head up to the Cosmetics Company Store?" Haha! Oh what good reason right? I was pleased that I only spent $32, but I made up for that with some other purchases from Nordstrom the day before yesterday, including the items below.

I was super excited to find one of my fave Lip Glasses - Mimmy from the Hello Kitty for MAC line and for $10! I also picked up Femme-Fi eyeshadow for $10 and Orpheus Kohl Power Eye Pencil for $9.50. Femme-Fi is a neutral bone colored Veluxe eyeshadow which I will use as an all-over eyelid color. Orpheus is a deep brown liner with flecks of microfine gold. I love my Powersurge Kohl Power Eye Pencil and think this is a good transition color to Fall/Winter.

Next up - Dazzleglass Creme in Creme Allure and Vino Lip Pencil. I had to buy a replacement for the Vino I thought I had. :\ And I wanted to pick up one of the new Dazzleglass Cremes. I asked the MUA if Creme Allure was the darkest one they had because I couldn't remember which color I wanted. I do like it, but I really wanted AMOROUS. MUA fail. I should have gone to my Tiffy, but I was in DT Seattle. Ah well...just another one for me to pick up!

Nordy's MAC Haul - Style Black

I finally got my grubby lil mitts on some products from MAC's Style Black collection. I was mainly interested in the lippies since there were Dazzleglasses and Mattene Lipsticks in deep, dark shades that are perfect for Fall! I wanted to pick up the Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask as well since that peaked my interest and it is limited edition!
Here is my haul from Nordstrom. Blackfire Dazzleglass, Night Violet Mattene Lipstick, Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask and Paradisco Eyeshadow. I know the Paradisco isn't part of the Style Black collection but do you remember this post about MAC Naked Honey & my issue with Pollenator? I really didn't want to keep a product that you couldn't see on my skin and wasn't worth keeping so I traded in for what I meant to get in the first place!

Here are swatches of the product: Paradisco swiped on top, Blackfire, Night Violet and the Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask. I still yet have to try the mask out, possibly next week? I really like how light the scent is, but there will be no photos of me with black mask on my face...or will there be? Haha!

From the MAC website:
Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask $19.50-
Formulated with Volcanic Ash and natural oils, this ash-black facial mask simultaneously deep-cleanses and treats the skin. When water is added, the mask heats up and the oils instantly lubricate the skin, leaving it feeling soft and clean. Helps keep skin moist, clean, soft, and evenly-textured. Limited edition.

Here is Blackfire on it's own. I love Dazzleglasses and I was happy to see that they brought some darker shades in this gloss! I opted to not get Blackware or Bling Black since I already have my black YSL gloss that I picked up last Holiday from Sephora. $18.00

Here is Night Violet alone. I lined with Urban Decay's 24/7 Lipliner in Ozone since I thought I had MAC's Vino in my collection, but I can't find it. :\ Guess I'll have to go pick that up since it is a perfect match! Matte lipsticks are sometimes not very flattering. I have a lot of little lines in my lips and don't like the look of lipstick without gloss. Scrub your lips first and apply a healthy dose of balm, then blot before you apply this lipstick. $14.50

Blackfire and Night Violet together. Such the perfect combo for a sultry, deep berry pout. LOVES IT! But I'm sure who I'll be smooching won't like it. Oh well, deal with it! ;)

More MAC Lippies! Hello Kitty & Rose Romance Color Stories

Yet another post about lippies! Hmmm...I'm tempted to take a picture of my entire lippy collection, but I won't. That would happen when I'm trying to deter myself from buying anymore, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Ha! I picked up a few items from the Hello Kitty for MAC and Rose Romance color stories that I haven't had a chance to use or swatch.

Hello Kitty for MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Popster. I have issues with putting my finger into lip products. It makes me squeamish, but I still buy them. Haha! And how could I resist my ultimate fave Hello Kitty? But it really did take me awhile to dip my finger into that pot. This has the same familiar vanilla scent that most of the MAC lippies have and has great pigment! The color makes my mouth a nice soft, watermelon pout. And the plus, this has SPF 15! I think this item will stay tucked in my collection for awhile and I'll probably start using this with a retractable lip brush when the time comes. No finger in pot!

I picked up the Hello Kitty Sweet Strawberry Lipglass for me and for Ms. B. More so for Ms. B since they didn't get any Hello Kitty for MAC cosmetics in Thailand! If some of you can remember that far back, the Hello Kitty line sold out pretty quickly. I ordered most of my items online and picked up only a couple of things at the counter since I couldn't at Nordstrom the day it unveiled. The color is actually a darker fuchsia on and makes my lips look so juicy!

Virgin Kiss was one of those random purchases that I picked up during the Rose Romance color story. This color is similar to my fave Love Nectar, but it does not have the golden flecks of shimmer. Rather it has more of pink shimmer. I plan on using this when my Love Nectar runs out, but when this runs out, I'll be picking up more Love Nectar. You like what you like right?

Cosmetics Company Store Deal: Adoring Carmine 3 Rose Lips

I cannot walk out of the Cosmetics Company Store without a purchase. I find so many great deals on past season color stories or discontinued colors. I found one of my fave MAC Paint Pots in Cash Flow from the Fafi color story during one of my visits up to Marysville, so the drive up is well worth it! I told you guys I am addicted to lip products!

My gf picked up the MAC Adoring Carmine 3 Rose Lips set during Holiday '08 and I loved the Romancin' Lustre Lipstick. You know I had to snap this set up when I found it at CCO. The regular price for this set was $34.50 and I picked it up for $24.25!

The set comes with Delicate Crush Lipglass, To Swoon For Glaze Lipstick and Romancin' Lustre Lipstick all tucked into a cute red pouch. Frankly, the pouch is pretty useless to me, but it is cute to add to my growing MAC collection. You can never go wrong with pink lippies & these are definitely great additions. I think I'm overdue for a trip up to the Tulalip Outlets soon & I'll be sure to report back on what I pick up!

MAC Naked Honey Collection - Skin Salve & Pollenator Eyeshadow

A definite indulgence, but how could I resist sweet honey? What really perked my interest was the Naked Honey Skin Salve, while the Pollenator Eyeshadow was an extra purchase that I honestly didn't need but it was similar to the color Paradisco which I have wanted, but haven't purchased...yet.

I adore the salve! I really liked my Rosebud Salve, but sometimes the flowery scent & taste would get to me. While I do love the scent of this, I would have liked this to have more of a honey taste to it. Maybe keeping along the lines of staying more natural, MAC did not want to add any additional flavor to this product. I use this primarily on my lips when I'm at home or before sleeping. This does not have SPF and would not recommend using this on your lips if you're going out, especially in the sun.

I was hoping the shadows from this line would have the same honeycomb embossing as the highlighting powder had, but they didn't. Bummer! From some of the reviews that I read and from what I have experienced when I swatched the product, the pigmentation of Pollenator just doesn't cut it. I will have to layer this color a few times before achieving the right look. If it were IMO, I would pass up on Pollenator and pick up Paradisco which I will be doing eventually!

MAC Sugarsweet Collection - Shadestick in Red Velvet & Tricolour Lipglass in Tasty

When my girl Tiffy was still @ Nordy's MAC, she would always help me choose which new products from the current collection I should have. Oh Tiffy! Always tempting me with new pretty things & I love her for that! This was a grab & go day where she pointed and I grabbed & bought. Two items from the Sugarsweet Collection that she thought I should have were the Red Velvet Shadestick and Tasty Tricolour Lipglass. The other colors and products were similar to things I have in my collection already, but these were different and I had to add these!

I really like MAC's Shadesticks and have a few in my collection. Red Velvet, like my favorite cupcake is a creamy, metallic magenta. I will have to work on an EOTD for this one. Magentas & Reds are hard to pull off sometimes and can look like you've been rubbing your eyelids if you don't concoct a good combo of other shadows and liners.

The Tricolour Lipglass in Tasty is different in package, but not different in product. The same familiar vanilla Lipglass, but in 3 different colors in 1 tube. The outcome is a light & shimmery pink dose of color. I would really like to just mix up all 3 colors already, but that would completely ruin it! I don't know if I want to use it or not, but what's the point of having something if you don't use it right?

Hello Kitty for MAC

So what did you gals pick up? I wish I could have picked up one of EVERYTHING, but I'm on a budget. :p

Been busy and was out to LA last weekend hence the lack of posts. Hopefully I'll be back into the swing of things this week. Still playing catch up!

MAC Passionately Red/Viva Glam: 3 Warm Lips

I had to indulge!! I only picked up one, but I may have to pick up another because my drunk ass lost the brush last night while out and about. :( Sad! I love the colors! It has my favorite Viva Glam V Lipglass! This is the perfect lip compact for going out. Just

What the website says:

Lipstick compact made of deep red snakeskin-embossed metal with a lavish faux jewel. Features two VIVA GLAM VI and VIVA GLAM V Lipsticks, and one VIVA GLAM V Gloss. Includes a black-handled 316 SE Lip Brush. All proceeds from the sale of this Holiday VIVA GLAM compact go to support men, women and children around the world living with HIV/AIDS. Limited edition.

My grubby mitts were all over the box. Haha! Look at the smudges!

Pretty, pretty!

Even prettier!

I am tempted to get the Cool Lips too so I can replace my lost brush. Damn it! I'm so mad! But the Cool Lips is also pretty, pretty as well, so there's no need to pull my arm. :p
